Trading Post – Terms and Conditions

The Trading Post is provided to give a facility for members of Humberside Police to advertise private sales and request information or goods that they may want.

• 1. Advertising on the Trading Post
  • 1.1 Advertising the sale of personal goods, via private sales, for you or your family/friends.
  • 1.2 Advertising for goods wanted, via private sales, for you or your family/friends.
  • 1.3 Advertising for private items that you wish to exchange for other goods.
  • 1.4 Requesting advice on any goods or services.
  • 1.5 The sale of goods for an Event, must be sold at a reasonable price. For example, tickets for a concert may not be sold for more than face value, although booking or additional fees may be recovered in the sale (up to 15% of the face value). The sale of tickets to a Football Match is prohibited.
  • 1.6 With the exception of T&C 1.5, all selling prices are at the sellers discretion and the onus is on the buyer to decide if the price is fair at the time or purchase.
  • 1.7 Delivery, collection and payment of items is between the buyer and seller. Internal mail or other Force resources must not be used.

• 2. Usage of the Trading Post
  • 2.1 No general topics will be made ‘sticky’.
  • 2.2 You must not post more than two consecutive replies to any post (i.e. to refresh topics).
  • 2.3 Topics that are obviously ‘forced’ or ‘bumped’ to the beginning of the topics will be deleted.
  • 2.4 Items can not be reposted within a 14 day period as this is considered a form of ‘bumping’.

• 3. Additional conditions of the Trading Post
  • 3.1 All transactions are a private agreement between the buyer and seller. Humberside Police will not be held responsible for any issues arising from the transaction.
  • 3.2 You cannot advertise services or a business venture either for yourself or anyone else.
  • 3.3 You cannot request or sell goods that may be interpreted as bringing the force into disrepute. This includes, but is not restricted to, requesting copies or recordings of copyrighted materials on any form of media (video cassette, CD or DVD) and does include programmes recorded from television or radio broadcasts. Selling tobacco or intoxicating liquors where the payment of duty is not clear is also prohibited.
  • 3.4 You must not include any personal phone numbers (including mobiles) without the express permission of the person who owns the number.
  • 3.5 You may reply to a topic if you can assist the advertiser to locate their requirements, even if you cannot directly supply the goods (i.e. inform them of a shop where an item is for sale).
  • 3.6 You may reply to a topic giving your advice.
  • 3.7 You must not post any comments that bring the Force into disrepute; this includes, but is not limited to defamatory or derogatory remarks about an individual or company.
  • 3.8 All views and recommendation are those of the writer, and it should not be implied that inclusion on the Trading Post gives any force recommendation of the service or goods.
  • 3.9 Any comments made, that in any way, are felt to be inappropriate or could be taken to offend, will be deleted at the moderators discretion.

• 4. Deactivation of Trading Post account
  • 4.1 Any breach of the above Terms and Conditions will result in immediate and permanent deactivation of the users Trading Post account.
  • 4.2 There is no appeal from the deactivation of a users Trading Post account and is completely at the discretion of the moderators. There is no requirement to give notice that an account will be deactivated.
